FoodHunt! 1.1

Food Hunt is a helpful tool designed for individuals with food allergies to easily identify safe food options. Currently, the app offers the following key features:

• Set Your Allergies: Food Hunt accommodates nine common allergens, including Milk, Wheat, Soy, Peanut, Tree Nut, Egg, Fish, Shellfish, and Sesame. Additional allergens will be incorporated in future updates.
• Scan a Food: By scanning the barcode on a food package, Food Hunt informs users whether the product is safe for consumption based on their specified allergies.
• Add a Friend: Users can connect with others and scan food items on their behalf, making it convenient for family and friends who assist with shopping or meal preparation.

However, to utilize the friend feature, both parties must create Food Hunt accounts. The current version of the app primarily focuses on these functionalities.

Upcoming features planned for Food Hunt include:

• Scan History: A record of scanned foods for personal and shared profiles.
• Rating System: Users can rate products with thumbs up or down immediately after scanning or reviewing findings from others. Note that the backend setup is pending.
• Recommendation System: An algorithm to suggest well-liked safe foods based on preferences of users with similar allergies within the community.

Food Hunt is currently in Beta testing phase. Feedback on identified bugs or improvement suggestions is welcomed. You are encouraged to spread the word about the app among your acquaintances if you find it beneficial as we strive to expand our user base.
